How to Play

Select your stake: Enter your starting stake using the ‘+’ and ‘-‘buttons and then click on the PLAY button to start the game. Your 1st card is visible with the 6 choices of statistics you can select along with their relevant payouts e.g. Zombies Guts and Gore: odds x 1.6.

Also visible is the card counter which shows how many cards remain in the deck.

Make your selection: Click on the relevant statistic. The game starts with 30 cards in the deck. Each correct prediction reduces the quantity of cards remaining in the deck i.e. your 1st odds set is based on 1 card out of 29 and the next bet being based on 1 card out of the remaining 27 and so on.

As you roll over a statistic (and its possible payout) you will see that the PAYS button displays the monetary value that you will win if your chosen statistic is higher than the hidden card. Once your chosen statistic has been pressed, the opponents card is revealed and the relevant statistics are compared. The highest number wins the hand.

Odds are not offered on a stat if it is the lowest in the deck. You will be unable to bet on the lowest stat and must choose another attribute. If you choose an attribute that is identical to or worse than the equivalent on the next card then the game is over and your stake/winnings are lost. Where a stat cannot be beaten x1 odds are offered. This does not increase your stake/winnings but does allow you to play on. Note that an unbeatable stat could still be matched depending on the cards left in the deck, resulting in a loss.

NB: In keeping with classic Top Trumps game play it is ALWAYS THE HIGHEST NUMBER THAT WINS e.g. the heaviest, tallest or youngest player wins based on the higher value.

Lose: If you lose, your winnings are emptied and the game resets to the initial stake entrance screen re-dealing all 30 cards.

Win: Your winnings are increased by the relevant payout next to your chosen statistic. The two visible cards are then removed from the pack and a new card is revealed to select another bet on which your winnings are all placed i.e. If you have 13 cards left in the deck you are predicting that your chosen stat will beat one of the remaining 13 cards only. This process continues until you decide to collect or you make an incorrect prediction.

Draw: In the unlikely event that the cards have matching chosen statistics, the game is complete, you lose the game and it resets to the initial stake entrance screen, re-dealing all 30 cards.

Collect function: Press this button at any time to end the current game and transfer your winnings to your main account balance.

Clearing the Deck: If you clear the deck down to the last two remaining cards, they are automatically revealed and you have cleared the deck - congratulations! The deck will reshuffle to the game start position allowing you to continue betting your winnings amount or to press collect to start a new game.

The Deck: This contains 30 cards at the beginning of the game which is reduced as each card becomes visible. This is displayed by the counter at the top centre of the screen and can also be viewed by clicking on the show deck icon on the navigation bar below. This handy feature not only shows which cards are remaining in the deck but also allows you to view all the statistics for every player.

Who am I betting with?

Is Top Trumps Horror fair?

The game is a game involving fixed odds and you are just as likely to win in any one game as you are in any other. Each game and each number is generated in isolation. Therefore if you have won money on the last five games there is nothing to say you will be less likely to win on the next just because you are on a winning streak.

What is the minimum/maximum I can bet?

50 cent/50 pence is the smallest bet that you can place on any one outcome. The maximum bet you can place is £/€1,000. Of course, the maximum amount you are allowed to stake within this framework will ultimately be dictated by the available funds that you have in your account at the time.

The game does not download load properly. Why is this?

This problem can be broken down into two more specific complaints, which are as follows:

1. The game is not displaying properly- This will be due to your screen resolution being too small. The game works on a minimum screen resolution of 800 by 600 pixels. To change your screen resolution simply go to your desktop and click on the right-hand mouse button. A menu will pop up and you will need to select 'Properties'. Another box will pop up and you will need to select 'Settings' from the tabs running along the top of the box. From here you will be able to alter your screen resolution.

2. The game is simply not working at all - This may be because you need to download the latest version of Flash Player. After loading the game, you will have received a screen prompt asking you whether you wanted to download the latest version of Flash Player. Downloading this will ensure that you will be able to play the game without any problems. If you ignored or switched the prompt off, you can go to the Macromedia website and download Flash Player from there.

The game seems to be running very slowly. Is there anything I can do about this?

Unfortunately not. Our game relies upon your machine, and will run as quickly or slowly as your machine allows. Other than upgrading your computer and its facilities, there is little that can be done with regards to improving the speed of the game on any one machine.

6.1 We may terminate your account (including your username and password) if we believe in our sole discretion that you have breached any of these Conditions, the General Rules or the Terms and Conditions or have acted in a manner inconsistent with the spirit of any of them or for any reason we discontinue to provide the Product.

6.2 You acknowledge that we do not have to give you prior notice of any such termination.

7. GENERAL

7.1 No bet can be cancelled by a customer once confirmed by us. All valid bets stand once confirmed whether the customer is on-line or off-line, subject to the provisions set out in clause 3.3 or as otherwise provided in the General Terms or (as applicable) the Terms and Conditions.

7.2 We reserve the right to withdraw the Product or any element of the Product at any time without notice to you, and we will not be liable as a result of any such action.

7.3 Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the General Rules, the maximum pay-out (meaning the aggregate winnings including returned stakes) for any calendar day (based on Greenwich Mean Time) to any individual customer (including any other person accessing the Product using your user identification) or to any group of customers acting together is £2,000,000 or currency equivalent, notwithstanding the number of different games played by the customer or group of customers acting together in the calendar day.

7.4 If any part of these Conditions shall be deemed unlawful, void or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed to be severable from these Conditions and shall not effect the validity and enforceability of any of the remaining provisions of these Conditions.

7.5 No waiver by us of any of these Conditions shall be construed as a waiver of any preceding or succeeding breach of any of these Conditions.
